Export Inspection Data: Over 1 million tons of corn were shipped in the week ending July 4, double the amount from the same period last year and up 10% from the previous week.


Hedge funds increased their net short positions to nearly a record high of over 336,000 contracts in the week ending July 2.


September 2024 Corn Futures: The price dropped significantly in early trading. The settlement price on July 8 was 393.25 cents per bushel, falling more than 4.2% from the previous week's close.


Export Inspection Data: More than 273,000 tons of soybeans were shipped in the week ending July 4, marking the lowest level in three years for that week and a decrease of 14.5% compared to the previous week.


Investment funds increased their net short positions to nearly 141,000 contracts as of July 2, up over 11,000 contracts from the previous week.


September 2024 Soybean Futures: The price also fell sharply, with the settlement on July 8 at 1,096.75 cents per bushel, down nearly 3% from the previous week's close.


Harvest Progress: U.S. winter wheat harvest was reported to be 63% complete as of July 7, ahead of the average pace by 11%.


Export Inspection Data: 341,000 tons of wheat were shipped in the week ending July 4, increasing nearly 2% from the previous week but down almost 19% year-over-year.


CFTC data shows hedge funds increased their short positions in Chicago wheat, raising their net short positions to nearly 74,000 contracts.


September 2024 Wheat Futures: The price fell sharply, with the settlement on July 8 at 570.5 cents per bushel, down over 3% from the previous week's close.
