U.S. Stock Market Situation

U.S. stocks moved in mixed directions on Monday as investors sold large technology stocks to shift into other sectors such as banking and energy. The S&P 500 fell 0.31%, ending the session at 5,448 points. The Nasdaq Composite dropped 1.09% to 17,497 points, marking its worst trading session since April. Meanwhile, the Dow Jones increased by 261 points, or 0.67%, closing at 39,411 points.

U.S. Treasury Bonds Situation

The yield on the 10-year U.S. Treasury bond continued to decline, falling to 4.238%.

Dollar Index Situation

The U.S. dollar slipped from its 8-week high against the yen on Monday, as traders grew cautious about potential government intervention to support the Japanese currency after it hit 160. The Dollar Index decreased by 0.31% from the previous day, settling at 105.49.

Gold Situation

Gold prices rose globally, with spot gold increasing by 11.1 USD to 2,334.3 USD/ounce. Futures gold traded up 16 USD from the early morning, reaching 2,347.2 USD/ounce.

Commodity Markets Situation

At the end of the first trading session of the week, oil prices rose by about 1% due to strong demand expectations for the summer, supply concerns driven by tensions in the Middle East and the Russia-Ukraine conflict, and the weakening of the USD. Brent crude increased by 77 cents, or 0.9%, to 86.01 USD/barrel. WTI crude rose by 90 cents, or 1.1%, to 81.63 USD/barrel.
