The Dollar Index (DXY) edged up by 0.02% on Tuesday, supported by higher Treasury yields. Additionally, Tuesday's news of the U.S. trade deficit in August narrowing to its lowest level in five months also bolstered the dollar. However, Tuesday's stock rally limited the demand for dollar liquidity.
During the trading session on October 8, 2024, precious metals saw a simultaneous decline in prices.The December 2024 Silver contract dropped by 4.39%, settling at 30.6 USD per troy ounce, marking a decrease of 1.40 USD.
Similarly, the January 2025 Platinum contract fell by 25.10 USD, or 2.54%, closing at 962 USD per troy ounce.
The December 2024 Copper contract ended the session with a 2.41% decline, falling to 4.457 USD per pound, down 0.11 USD compared to the previous session.
