The dollar index on Thursday rose by 0.26% to a 6-week high. The dollar remained supported as escalating tensions in the Middle East fueled demand for the dollar as a safe-haven asset. Additionally, the weakening of the yen bolstered the dollar, as the yen fell to a 6-week low against the dollar on Thursday due to expectations that the Bank of Japan (BOJ) will not raise interest rates again this year. U.S. weekly initial unemployment claims rose by 6,000 to 225,000, indicating a slightly weaker labor market compared to the expectation of 221,000.

The December Silver Futures price continued to rise. The settlement price on October 3 was $32.464 per troy ounce, up 1.7% from the previous session.

At the close of the October 3 session, the November Platinum Futures closed at $998.2 per troy ounce, down 1.12% from the previous session. 

The December Copper Futures price saw a sharp decline. The settlement price on October 3 was $4.553 per pound, down 2.06% from the previous session.
