Receiving dossiers requesting investigation into anti-dumping of imported galvanized steel

7 thg 5, 2024

To serve the investigation of imported coated steel, the authorities require evidence to determine whether the dumping of imported goods has caused or threatens to cause significant damage to the domestic industry.

A representative from the Trade Remedies Authority (Ministry of Industry and Trade) stated that on April 19, the investigating agency (Trade Remedies Authority) received dossiers from companies representing the domestic production industry, requesting an investigation to apply anti-dumping measures on coated steel products from the People's Republic of China and the Republic of Korea. On May 3, the investigating agency confirmed that the dossier was complete and valid according to trade remedy laws.

Within 45 days from the date of confirmation of the complete and valid dossier, the investigating agency will appraise the dossier to submit to the Minister of Industry and Trade for consideration of whether to investigate the case. The dossier appraisal includes determining the legal representative status of the domestic production industry organizations or individuals submitting the dossier as per the Law on Foreign Trade Management; determining evidence of dumping of imported goods that has caused or threatens to cause significant damage to the domestic industry or significantly impedes the establishment of the domestic industry.

To serve the appraisal process and ensure the legitimate rights and interests of enterprises, the investigating agency requests that domestic enterprises producing/trading similar goods provide information about the enterprise; the design capacity and output of coated steel products from 2019 to 2023; the company's opinion on the case (agree, oppose, no opinion) along with any other documents or evidence that the company deems relevant to the case.

The representative also noted that the deadline for providing the above information is May 20, to be sent to the Anti-dumping and Subsidies Investigation Division, Trade Remedies Authority, 23 Ngo Quyen, Hoan Kiem District, Hanoi.
