U.S. Stock Market Situation on August 19
The U.S. stock market continued its upward trend with an eighth consecutive day of gains as investors anticipated the Federal Reserve's annual symposium. Specifically, the S&P 500 Index rose by 0.97%, reaching 5,608.25 points. The Nasdaq Index increased by 1.39%, hitting 17,876.77 points. The Dow Jones Index climbed by 0.58%, closing at 40,896.53 points.
U.S. Treasury Bonds Situation on August 19
The 10-year U.S. Treasury bond yield reversed course, declining to 3.875%.
Dollar Index Situation
The Dollar Index dropped by 0.61%, reaching 101.85 points, marking its lowest level in seven months.
Gold Market Situation
Today, the global gold price remained nearly unchanged from early yesterday, with spot gold down by 1.2 USD to 2,505 USD per ounce. Gold futures last traded down by 3.6 USD from early yesterday, at 2,542.6 USD per ounce.
Commodity Market Situation
At the close of yesterday’s trading session, oil prices continued to decline by more than 2 USD. Specifically, Brent crude oil fell by 2.02 USD, or 2.5%, to 77.66 USD per barrel. WTI crude oil decreased by 2.28 USD, or 3%, to 74.37 USD per barrel.
