U.S. Stock Market Situation on August 16
The U.S. stock market concluded its strongest week of the year with its seventh consecutive day of gains. Specifically, the S&P 500 Index rose by 0.2%, reaching 5,554.25 points. The Nasdaq Index increased by 0.21%, hitting 17,631.72 points. The Dow Jones Index climbed by 0.24%, closing at 40,659.76 points.
U.S. Treasury Bonds Situation on August 18
The 10-year U.S. Treasury bond yield slightly increased, reaching 3.909%.
Dollar Index Situation
The Dollar Index started the new week at 102.4 points.
Gold Market Situation
Today, the global gold price showed a downward trend, with spot gold decreasing by 2.5 USD from last week's closing price, now standing at 2,506.2 USD per ounce.
Commodity Market Situation
At the end of last week’s trading session, oil prices dropped nearly 2% as investors lowered their expectations regarding demand in the Chinese market. Specifically, Brent crude oil fell by 1.36 USD, or 1.7%, to 79.68 USD per barrel. WTI crude oil decreased by 1.51 USD, or 1.9%, to 76.65 USD per barrel.
