U.S. Stock Market Situation on September 3
The U.S. stock market experienced a sharp decline in Tuesday's trading session amid a sell-off in tech stocks and gloomy economic data. Specifically, the S&P 500 index fell 2.12%, down to 5,528.93 points. The Nasdaq index dropped 3.26%, closing at 17,136.3 points. The Dow Jones index also declined by 1.51%, ending the session at 40,936.93 points.
U.S. Treasury Bonds Situation on September 3
The 10-year U.S. Treasury bond yield dropped significantly, down to 3.837%.
Dollar Index Situation
The Dollar Index rose by 0.12%, reaching 101.77 points. At the same time, the USD hit a two-week high against the EUR.
Gold Situation
Global gold prices dropped yesterday, with spot gold down by 7.2 USD, to 2,492.8 USD/ounce. Gold futures last traded down by 7.7 USD compared to early yesterday, reaching 2,524 USD/ounce.
Commodity Market Situation
At the close of Tuesday's session, oil prices plunged nearly 5%, hitting the lowest level in almost 9 months. Specifically, Brent oil prices dropped by 3.77 USD, equivalent to 4.9%, to 73.75 USD/barrel. WTI oil prices fell by 3.21 USD, or 4.4%, to 70.34 USD/barrel.
