The U.S. Dollar Index on Monday recovered from a 13-month low and ended with a 0.13% gain. Dovish comments from the Fed on Monday weighed on the dollar while boosting demand for precious metals. Richmond Fed President Barkin stated that he still saw upside risks for inflation, but he supported "dialing down" interest rates as the labor market cools, and San Francisco Fed President Daly suggested that "the time to adjust policy has come."
The December Silver Futures price rose slightly. The settlement price on August 26 was $30.453 per troy ounce, up 0.65% compared to the last session of the previous week.
The October Platinum Futures price rose slightly. The settlement price on August 26 was $972.7 per troy ounce, up 0.68% compared to the last session of the previous week.
The October Copper Futures price rose slightly. The settlement price on August 26 was $4.235 per pound, up 0.57% compared to the last session of the previous week.
