The USD fell by 0.35% against the Japanese Yen in the latest trading session, and it also declined against other currencies. The decrease of U.S. inflation (PPI), as forecasted, suggests that the market seems to have passed the worst phase of recent volatility.
The U.S. stock market saw a strong rally on Tuesday, approaching the record level set last month, which limited the demand for precious metals.
The September Silver Contract price fell slightly. The settlement price on August 13 was 27.786 USD/troy ounce, down 0.79% from the previous session.
The October Platinum Contract price declined slightly. The settlement price on August 13 was 945.9 USD/troy ounce, down 0.07% from the previous session.
The September Copper Contract price decreased. The settlement price on August 13 was 4.052 USD/pound, down 0.42% from the previous session.
