The U.S. Dollar Index on Wednesday rose by 0.05%. The dollar recovered from early losses and reached a 1-week high after the U.S. August core CPI report came in as expected, dropping to 2.5% year-over-year from 2.9% in July. This reduced the likelihood of the Fed cutting interest rates by 50 basis points at next week's FOMC meeting, which is a supportive factor for the dollar. Additionally, the rebound in U.S. Treasury yields on Wednesday also modestly supported the dollar's gains.
The December Silver Futures Price increased. The settlement price on September 11 was 28.928 USD/troy ounce, up 1.1% from the previous session.
The October Platinum Futures Price increased. The settlement price on September 11 was 956.2 USD/troy ounce, up 1.26% from the previous session.
The October Copper Futures Price increased. The settlement price on September 11 was 4.098 USD/pound, up 1.04% from the previous session.
