The dollar fell back from its best levels Thursday after US weekly jobless claims jumped to a 14-month high, a dovish factor for Fed policy. Also, dovish comments from New York Fed President Williams undercut the dollar when he said interest rates will return to normal “over time.”
In the trading session on October 10, 2024, the December 2024 silver contract increased by 1.86%, reaching 31.24 USD/troy ounce, an equivalent rise of 0.57 USD.
The January 2025 platinum contract rose by 1.97%, equivalent to a gain of 18.90 USD, closing at 976.20 USD/troy ounce.
The December 2024 copper contract ended the session with an increase of 0.64%, reaching 4.428 USD/pound, up 0.03 USD from the previous session.
