The dollar index (DXY00) rose by 0.33% on Wednesday, reaching its highest level in nearly two months. Rising U.S. Treasury yields and positive remarks from Fed Vice Chair Jefferson regarding solid economic growth supported the dollar. Dallas Fed President Logan also backed a slower pace of Fed easing, further strengthening the dollar. However, after the S&P 500 reached a new record high, liquidity demand decreased, causing the dollar to pull back from its highest level.
In the trading session on September 10, 2024, the December 2024 silver contract rose slightly by 0.23%, reaching 30.67 USD/troy ounce, an increase of 0.07 USD.
The January 2025 platinum contract dropped by 0.49%, losing 4.70 USD, settling at 957.30 USD/troy ounce.
The December 2024 copper contract closed the trading session with a decrease of 1.28%, dropping to 4.400 USD/pound, down 0.06 USD compared to the previous session.
