The USD Index on Tuesday rose to a 2-week high, finishing the session up 0.16%, driven by increased liquidity demand as the stock market plunged. However, gains were limited by August's ISM manufacturing PMI data, which only slightly rose to 47.2, below the expected 47.5, and July's U.S. construction spending data, showing a decline of 0.3%, worse than the anticipated 0.1% decrease.
The December Silver Futures Price dropped sharply. The settlement price on September 3 was $28.344 per troy ounce, down 2.74% from the previous session.
The October Platinum Futures Price also saw a significant drop. The settlement price on September 3 was $909.9 per troy ounce, down 2.39% from the previous session.
The October Copper Futures Price fell. The settlement price on September 3 was $4.052 per pound, down 2.77% from the previous session.
