The U.S. Dollar Index increased by 0.04% on Thursday. The dollar received modest support after U.S. weekly initial jobless claims decreased by 12,000, reaching a 4-month low of 219,000 claims, showing a stronger labor market than the expected 230,000 claims, which is also a positive factor for Fed policy.

Additionally, higher Treasury note yields on Thursday strengthened the dollar's interest rate differentials. However, the dollar fell from its intraday highs after the British pound surged to a 2-1/2 year high when the Bank of England (BOE) kept interest rates unchanged.

The Silver December futures price recovered. The settlement price on September 19 was $31.423 per troy ounce, a 2.4% increase compared to the previous session.

The Platinum October futures price increased. The settlement price on September 19 was $994.4 per troy ounce, a 2.01% increase compared to the previous session.

The Copper October futures price continued to rise. The settlement price on September 19 was $4.295 per pound, a 1.1% increase compared to the previous session.
